CRCHUQ is the research branch of Centre hospitalier universitaire de Québec (CHUQ), a university hospital center that serves the Greater Quebec City area and eastern Quebec. CHUQ is affiliated with Université Laval.

CRCHUQ was created by merging the research centers of CHUQ’s three hospitals -Centre hospitalier de l’Université Laval (CHUL), Hôtel-Dieu de Québec (HDQ), and Hôpital Saint-François d’Assise-. Its research teams work in six broad areas of study at the three hospital sites. CRCHUQ enjoys a solid national and international reputation thanks to the excellence of its research teams and ultramodern facilities.

Recognized by the Quebec health research funding agency, Fonds de recherche en santé du Québec (FRSQ), CRCHUQ signed a partnership agreement with Université Laval to maintain and develop a body of expertise and excellence and provide an environment for training health researchers and professionals in each research area. CRCHUQ collaborates with other research organizations and provides the scientific community with specialized services unavailable elsewhere. 

CRCHUQ is one of the biggest hospital-based research centers in Canada.
