CRCHUQ boasts some 260 researchers backed up by research professionals, technicians, and managers as well as 700 graduate students and postdoctoral researchers. Almost 2,000 people contribute to the smooth operation of CRCHUQ.
Financial Resources
CRCHUQ has an average annual budget of $70 million. Funding is provided in part by grants from Fonds de recherche en santé du Québec (FRSQ), the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR), and the Canadian Foundation for Innovation (CFI), as well as bursaries, partnerships, sponsorships, and contracts.
Technological Resources
CRCHUQ is proud to possess major cutting-edge facilities:
- Centre de recherche clinique et évaluative en oncologie (CRCEO) is an innovative clinical and evaluative oncology research facility that brings together clinical, fundamental, and evaluative cancer research and patient care under the same roof, marking a new era in CHUQ’s healthcare approach. Once fully operational, it is expected to log over 50,000 patient visits a year at its various clinics, facilitating intensive clinical research and making CRCEO one of the top clinical research facility in Quebec and Canada.
- Centre de génomique et d’infectiologie
Brand new as of summer 2009, this ultramodern complex houses the genomics and infectiology research activities of Centre de génomique fonctionnelle et humaine and Centre de recherche en infectiologie.
